Environmental Reviews

Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) are developed to determine whether or not an action (such as building a natural gas facility) is a “major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment.” An EIS was completed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Wisconsin Public Service Commission in September 2019. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service (RUS) completed an EA of the Project in October 2020, a Supplemental EA in June 2022, and a Revised Supplemental EA in July 2023. The Final Supplemental Environmental Assessment was published in December 2023.
